Anybody know how to fix the pre facelift e12 corolla fan button? It is struggling like mad to go up in power, despite how hard i press. Going down is fine just up is the problem. Hope there is a quick fix rather than having to fork out for a new console.

We stripped ours down recently as the displays were becoming less readable due to dirt on the inside of the panel.

Its fairly easy to strip down without any special tools , but there is about 3 layers of boards to remove before you get to one with the switches.

We never did anyhng to the switches but you may be able to check/clean their contacts or solder its pins if there is a 'dry' joint.

Again did not really take that much notice of the actual switches but doubt you will be able to buy them as such,  getting a second hand complete unit and taking a switch from that should work if the replacement panel does not work or look ok.

The only difficult part was reassembly, getting the actual buttons to locate properly between the pcb switches and the outer panel is a bit of a juggling act.

Should be plenty around as they were fitted to most post 2004 rollas which would assume is the same as the Tsport ?

One here for £40  -
