Interesting but, IMHO, largely irrelevant as far as the environment of the planet is concerned.  Half the world’s population will always be at loggerheads with the other, so there will never be a moment when everyone agrees on a workable plan to “save” the planet.

As they do now, some countries will work to improve the environment, whilst others will continue to “do their own thing” regardless of any consequences.

And so, with the advances of technology, the great variation in peoples’ attitudes and the ever increase in world population, things will still just stagger along in the same old way with strong opinions at each end of the spectrum, but nothing really happening to change direction.
