3500 miles in now, I can honestly say it exceeds all expectation. The handling is incredible, steering is light and balanced, you can really kick it out of bends very quickly, the backend feels really light and playful not too dissimilar to a Caterham. Initially when I test drove one, I convinced myself it lacked power, it is the least powerful sports car that I have owned in over 20 years but saying that it means I can drive the car hard and have lots of fun at sensible speeds.  In my 911 you have to short shift to avoid going at insane speeds, it has really long gears so over 100mph in 3rd gear.

The GR86 is so good that I have contemplated selling the Porker which hasn’t been driven at all and has been SORN since last September.

Fuel economy is great, tonight it was averaging 27mpg after about 100 miles since filling it up.  Generally does about 300 miles on £60 of fuel, so is costing me a bit after owning the Yaris Hybrid which perhaps in hindsight I should have kept.

Thanks for the note on JayEmm’s review, I hadn’t seen that until tonight and he does like it. 👍
