Toyota Corolla oil?

I got the car serviced earlier in week.

I just happened to pull dipstick today and if there is oil on the dipstick, it is barely visible and looks to be clear coloured, whatever is there.

Is that normal?

Yes completely normal.  Corolla’s run on very light low viscosity oil that looks very pale.  I find it’s sometimes hard to read the exact level on the Corolla dip stick compared to old cars.  Normally you should measure after car warmed up to normal temperature then wait 5 min.

Yes. New oil is like clear honey - but much runnier.  Give it a few weeks and it will start to darken slightly.

Welcome to the new world of super-low viscosity oil!

And that's 0w16 - My Yaris uses 0w8 so you can image what that's like!!

I find I have to hold it up to the light at an angle and see where it's shiny rather than difference in colour, to see what level it's at.

Dipstick? What's one of them? (I'm joking! 😉)
