rad hoses will last just make sure they are not bulging, split or cracked

Aux belt is a wear and tear service item and will break down with age and mileage

It has more than likely been changed a few times in 20+ years  lol

cars do not like to sit and expect a lot to break, full-service, fluids and a full brake fluid change

I would do the aux belt as a matter of course

it gets used occasionally and always garaged and oil changed every couple of years and mot every year so not like just left parked, hoses still look like new so does the aux belt

You'll know if the aux belt needs changing as it starts to make a horrible screeching noise when start running from cold, like it's been replaced by a very angry and vocal cat

Belts needs to be replaced as preventative maintenance because they are made of rubber and rubber does age and crack. It’s up to you though if you want to do it or wait for the belt to snap while you are travelling.
Garaged cars are totally different from those left parked on the streets. 👍

Some pictures will be nice to see it .

Yeah, I thought it was the aux belt and replaced it, turned out to be the cat 😺.

Looks very good 👌🚙

I will enjoy a similar old motor in excellent condition as much as new car or even more.

thanks

nice simple car as my main one is a 68 plate honda jazz

its nice to drive but a bit revvy on the motorway as its a 1.0 but sounds nice, there is some slight knocks, touch up paint and damage one the body but not too bad in dark blue it hides most of it but they all have some damage as over 20 years old now

i know right, i see abour 3 or 4 every time i go out, either silver, black red metalic and yesterday i saw a pale green metallic one, i have not seen another dark blue

it just shows how good these mk1 are if they are still about at 20 plus years old
