Basically i was on my way home at 2 pm with a crew mate in the car on a main road, saw a car flying up a side road at what i guessed was 50 mph in a 30mph zone, knew "she" was never going to stop in time so drifted out and floored it, end result a back wheel with a 45% list, need a new bumper plus rear panel and obviously the car needs to get on a jig, plus the suspension need's doing as that took a good wallop :crybaby:

Sad i know but my action's stopped a full on T-Bone so at least my mate is just shaken and nothing worst, the car can be repaired, he might have taken a tad longer if i hadden't of floored it and drifted out when i saw her coming( according to the police)

So here is my question, after the intial impact a car take's 16m to stop after a crash, so what roughly was the speed of the "paxo" in question.

Local Police have it at 52mph, what do you say

She hadn't been drinking but i think she had taken something, just got a phone call from the officer dealing with it and they will be prosecuting her so it make's thing's a tad easier with the insurance as her insurance company have already admitted liability once they was told of the circumstance's and the impending prosecution so at least that's one thing less to worry about.

I just hope it's not a write off as their had been a lot of work done on the car :(

For the police to give such an accurate figure i'd guess they got it off the cars speedo.

On most cars the speedo will stop dead when there is any kind of considerable impact that would cause the engine to cut out.

That's how the police determined that the bloke that hit me when i was on my bike was doing 82mph in his shiny MR2 tubby!!!!!!!! :ffs: :ffs:

Glad you're all okay - that's the most important thing...

Sorry to be a doom merchant, but the other side admitting liability doesn't necessarily mean it will be easier with the insurance... It's just taken me 6 weeks (since last set of mini-meets) to get mine all settled.

Maybe that's just Toyota Insurance
