What is the rev limit of a cts and does it increase once the car is run in...

I can't get mine over 8200rpm

Cheers in advance

That's 8200 for me, so easy done when overtaking but i try to be carefull these days, would hitting the limit put stress on the engine?

I don't think it will stress the engine as thats why the rev limiter cuts in, if the oil isn't warm enough it won't go above 7k for me as well so it kinda protects itselff

Why would you want or need to go over 8200rpm?

Surely your going fast enough by then!!!

Why not is more the question! Mk1 Escort RS1600 works BDA's can and do rev to 11000rpm! The noise is unbelivable! Especially when inside the car! I have experienced it many times! :)

a mate of mine dropped his into 2nd from 5th (he was aiming for 4th  :ffs:) when going about 60 ish. he said the needle went all the way through the red :o .

he said that he'd never heard anything like it. didn't seem to do any harm though.

but i wouldn't recommend trying it yourself!

I accidentally hit the Rev limiter tonight, I didn't realise its like putting the brakes on, I don't normally rev it that hard but i was chasing a mate in one of these...

Needless to say I couldn't catch him on the straights and that car is soooo grippy in the corners, i would say its probably the nicest Jap car I've seen...

I will have to agree a 100% with you on this one mate!

thats the only car I would trade my Tsport for  too bad it's twice as expensive

I never understand why all the stunning cars have massively high performing engine's, do slower cars have to look more ugly, for example why can't they make a 150 BHP diesel car look like an Evo8...

Don't get me wrong I really like the look of my T Sport but I prefer the Evo8 or most Ferrari's, just trying to make a point... :help:
