Radio Problem

Got into the Prius yesterday to nip down to the shops. The radio had been left on from the previous day as usual, but it seemed louder than I normally have it. Would you believe it ... the volume control had absolutely no effect (dashboard and steering wheel controls) It was stuck at the same volume and I couldn't turn it up or down, although all other functions were ok.

Left the car to some shopping, returned an hour later, started it up and .... the volume control started working again. Anybody else had this experience ?

Didn't you ask for the 'Special Edition' model which has Radio 1 disabled ? It cost a few quid extra, but well worth it.

HI

Got my Prius 2 weeks ago and a couple of days ago my volume control (or not) did the same thing - when I mentioned it to my partner and son they immediately switched it on and it worked!

On another topic has anyone managed to find a mobile phone that will download the address book - am struggling - have tried all the recommended ones and they don't, dealer has not found one either - one dealer says Toyota confirmed recently that currently there are no mobile phones that will download the address book - frustrating................ would be quite happy to type them in and not have the data transfer but there is no facility to do that.

Not quite radio related but I did notice one strange thing this week - the mpg average screen didn't reset after the last fill up ?! Unable to explain that one.

Also, the Speakers seem to have become 'buzzy' with bass notes - cheap Speakers I suspect. Will get it looked at when it is serviced.

Otherwise still very chuffed with the car . Stil getting >50mpg on every tank. Managed 55mpg on a long run down the M1 recently.

I used to have a problem with the bass speaker vibrating a lot, then I found it was sometimes caused by things left in the small cubby hole underneath the radio.

Had no problems with my radio as yet.......but with regards to the average resetting, it will only do this I think if you put more than 10 litres in the tank.

Ha! I'd wondered about that. The Toyota dealer claimed to have put a tenners worth in when they took it in for the recall work but the computer didn't reset. I was surprised as I didn't think there was enough room for a tenners worth.

If it's 10l or less than that could explain it.
