I need to buy a Supra!!!

Anyone got any advice? What should I look out for as common problems? And what are people's views on getting a turbo, twin turbo or non-turbo?

Cheers

very little diffrence in insurance prices between na/ twin turbo (bout £200 for me) ... MAssive diffrnce in insurance between UK TT and Jap TT..... you'll pay three times as much on a jap twin turbo.....

diffrences in bhp, spec etc visit : www.mkiv.com

oh, and finding a uk tt is like finding a talking duck.....

Bought myself a J-spec 6spd TT in october. Great buy and loving it!

Spend a lot of time reading up on the web from various Supra forums. You will find tons of supra owners that are willing to help you.

They have technical sections that you can read through and they will point out what you need to look for. TBH it is like buying a normal car. Look for all the tell tail signs as usual and make sure they have a full service history and make sure it all ties in.

But first of all you want to decide which Supra spec you want. UK, J-spec, Auto, N/A, Twin Turbo, manual 5 or 6spd. They UK V J-spec both have pro and cons. Do not believe the J-spec is running on 281bhp as it is more at 300bhp. Its the old Japanese Law/gentlemans agreement regarding bhp.

Get all the info you need from the MK4 supra clubs. Do search on google and you will see loads. Spend time reading and finding what suits you and then you can start to look for what you want. I got mine from mkivsupra.net from a previous Supra who had taken care of the beast well!

Good luck dude

Very tru on the insurance, but a jspec will cost you lot less then a uk soop, so cost balances out end of day anyway.....
