hi all

just bought a 2.4 super custom '1992, please excuse basic questions.

how do i get the ECT working, am assuming its cruise control, and am pressing the button whilst t 60mph or so an nothing happens, light comes on, on the dash with PWR under it but thats all.

whats the red button at the topright corner of the drive selector??

from 55mph onwards theres not another gear change, is this correct??

is there any point in drive with OD off??

finally.. need to replace the cab sun roof glass, any ideas??

Andy,

The ECT button relates to the gearbox, basically when its on the box just holds onto each gear for longer for improved acceleration-its nothing to do with cruise control

The red button allows you to put the car into neutral without the engine been on, ie normally to change as with all autos you need to put your foot on the brake.

On the issue of the overdrive, no there isn't any point in turning the O/D off, just leave it on.

And finally the roof, I always use Find A Part, basically its a premium rate number but you tell them what you want and they then pass the details to 100's of breakers and they will contact you if they have what you want (09069-190408)

Just a word of advise I've heard quite a few stories of the 2.4 overheating, you may save yourself alot of trouble and cost by giving the cooling system a flush through.
