Needed to fit a new Battery to my 1996 Toyota Carina E 2.0 GLi Estate (3S-FE engine) a couple of weeks ago. Heard this horrible beeping sound from somewhere under the bonnet but got the new barrery in and things seem to work all right. What is this? Can I disconnect the Battery for longer - e.g. if a need to do a major job, or not? Will I lose stuff from the engine management memory or am I all right?
