How many miles can one expect to get from £10.00, for a 1.3 engine ?

Bearing in mind that petrol around my area is about 85.9 a litre.

Thanks :)

Tricky one... I don't know, but I managed to get about 540 miles from my last tank of diesel :D

Must be getting slower in my old age

I really should work this out properly...

To fill my car - about 42 litres - costs almost 37 quid in diesel so I should be able to get (someone find me a calculator...)

(500miles / £37) x £10 ≈ 135 miles on a tenner.

[miles per pound] x [number of pounds] = [miles per number of pounds]

Based on that I guess you're looking at about 100 to 110 miles on a tenner of petrol (its less efficient, but the petrol's cheaper - which nearly cancels it out)

Good luck!

Alan

Dunno about £10's worth but try to work it out based on this;

Madam has just come back from a 267 mile round trip ... (because of the threat of fuel protests we are keeping the tank topped up so) .... it took £17.72 @ 95.6p/litre to top up.

That's 65.44mpg ... so if I can add up £10 = 151 miles.

well I just filled up with a tenner actually! :P

Car is reading 120 miles, although there was a bit left in it when I put that tenner in - and the petrol was 86.9p - I have also just travelled 15 miles from the petrol station!

So it was 135!

I did work it all out once with the Yaris MPG and average petrol price - I'll get my pen out and brain switched on again if you want a definitive answer.

Had a lovely drive through the Bedfordshire villages today. Nothing to do, lovely weather, and lots of ladies walking around wearing nothing much.

Reading this thread has reminded me to go fill up actually  more than a tenners worth is needed I think!

Since the hot weather my MPG has improved. It seem near impossible to get over the 40 mark. Im on 38 at the mo which im happy with, I just cant go 60 on motorways. :crybaby:

Must work out how to view MPG on the display.

I've managed to squeeze just over 400 miles from a full tank before though, in my T2 (1 litre) Petrol Yaris.

It depends on how I'm driving at the time, to how far a tenner gets me. :D

 think the most I've had out of my SR is about 250-270 miles for the tank. Haven't let it run out though - I usually fill up when it gets to 1 or 2 bars.

What am I doing wrong??!!

The bottom bar's got to be getting on for 25 miles of flashing before you can get that sort of mileage ;)
