I'm debating whether or not to do this when my car is due for it's first service, I'll have to find out first if it would void the warranty by putting one on, if so i'll remove it for it's service.

well, thats easy :)

when i looked at the full gurantee contract, it says there..

that if you install or use non-toyota authorized parts (even if its a toyota accessory-they have to install it) then any malfunction this accessory will create, the gurantee wont cover it.

meaning.. they MUST prove that the filter caused the problem.. BUT i wouldnt take the risk for a 5 min job re-installing the old one and another 5 mins for reinstalling my apexi back..

you know how things like that go... and with a filter, thats a big problem..

they can blame the filter almost on anything not connected to the wiring..

engine problem? they can say its not filtering as their specs.

computer problem? they can say the air flowing in is making havoc there

sensors etc? again.. filter..

so .. besides the headlights and cigarette lighter.. i guess they can blame it on the filter..

but hey.. again.. its such a little job... i think it will save you lots of trbl...

:)

was my first service as well... maybe ill keep it in at the third year of the warranty... not before...

I've taken my ol' pipercross filter off mine now, just to keep it stock.

Not noticed a difference, apart from it's slightly quieter.
