Could Sum1 Give Me A Heads Up On 4age Motors?

k heres wats up...... i just want to learn about some 4age engines......can any1 tell me a few of the years ... the types of 4age's.... number of valves.....carb or intake...... wat car its for?????? if any1 could help that would be great....

With reference to 4AGE engines (not turbo'd or Supercharged)

In Britain in from about 1984 to 1992 we had it (offically) sold in 4 versions of Toyota-

Three were Corollas

Corolla GT (FWD) built from 1983 to 1987, Toyota model code 'AE82'

Corolla GT (RWD) built from 1983 to 1988, Toyota model code 'AE86'

Corolla GTi (FWD) built from 1987 to 1992, Toyota model code 'AE92'

And the first MR2 built from 1984 to 1990

Toyota 4A-GE 20v Silver Top Information

Twin Cam

20 Valve

1587cc

4 Cylinder

2WD

Quad throttle bodies

This type of 4A-GE engine produces approx. 150 bhp.

The Toyota 4A-GE 20v Silver Top was sold in the Japanese Corolla AE101 Levin and Trueno GT-Apex.

Twin Cam

Supercharged

1587cc

4 Cylinder

2WD

The early engines with AFM produce approx. 145 bhp.

The later engines with MAP produce approx. 160 bhp.

The Toyota 4A-GZE was sold in the Japanese MR2 Supercharged AW11 and also Corolla Levin and Trueno GTZ AE92 and AE101.

20v Black Top Information

Twin Cam

20 Valve

1587cc

4 Cylinder

2WD

Quad throttle bodies

This type of 4A-GE engine produces approx. 165 bhp.

The Toyota 4A-GE 20v Black Top was sold in the Japanese Corolla AE111.
