do you know?  :bookworm:

i think its something to do with the air filter intake? not sure what it does?

it sucks hot air from around the exhaust manifold and pumps it into the intake system just ahead of the airbox.

thats odd, thought engines ran faster with cool air?

what would happen if you put an induction kit on? surely this part is not used?

 bert

Its to do with emissions apparently, not to sure on details!. If you have an induction kit the whole system is pointless, its just dead weight, and will only occasionally supply hot air into the engine bay.

if you "steel" my photos then ask me :D

it's the electrical airpump of the TS.

When you start the engine and the engine is cold the airpump pumps fresh air into the exhaust system to increase the oxygen-part and to reduce the warm-up-phase of the cat.

ah now i get it! :D

guess with an aftermarket ecu such as powerfc, this system could just be removed completely?.

I don't think you can remove all parts of this system completly , cause you'll get some open air-intakes in the exhaust-manifold or you have to close these intakes. You can disconnet the electrical part of the pump to shut it down , but maybe you'll get an error-code in the system ?!?!

But why you wonna remove it ??? It takes no engine-power and it isn't heavy.
