i have a starlet reflet f 1999 automatic ep9 engine

there is a note in one side of the engine saying that i have to use a double electrode spark plug but i always used simple ones (just one electrode) is it wrong? is dangerous?

if anybody knows which Denso spark Plugs i have to use it will be very cool

my GTturbo only uses single electrode plugs.

no harm in using double or even triple electrode ones.

go to toyota and ask what should be the correct type

I'd use single electrode. I remember having an interesting conversation with the technical helpline of a well known spark plug manufactuer who admitted that multi-terminal electrodes are more a marketing gimmick than anything else.

i can agree with that. a good spark is a good spark at the end of the day. multiple electrodes arent gong to make any real difference

MORE THAN ONE ELECTRODE IS JUST A MARKETING GIMMICK ...THAT´S COMPLETELY NEWS FOR ME...

ITS A LITTLE HARD TO BELIEVE TO ME , BECAUSE THE ENGINE´S TOP OF MY STARLET SAYS : "USE OF DOUBLE ELECTRODE SPARK PLUG IS IMPERATIVE"

THAT´S BECAUSE I´M ASKING IF EVERYBODY SAYS IS NO PROBLEM, I´´LL HAVE TO BE OK WITH THAT

Is the number of electrodes linked to quality?

No. A two-ground electrode spark plug is neither better nor worse than, for example, a three-ground electrode spark plug. The essential difference is the service life. Selection of the spark plug is up to the car manufacturer and is optimised for the particular engine and the desired performance/service life.

this was taken from the ngk website. basically the multi electrode plugs provide longer service life, that is all. they also recommend that cars that dont originally use multi electrode plugs shouldnt use them.

Sparkplugs

I changed mine from dual electrode to single electrode....

Here is the Denso alternative ,single and multi electrode.

Mine has not had any problems and I have a Cynos...

B) The extra electrodes could possibly increase subtle misfires by shrouding the spark from the swirling mixture. I use platinum plugs for 100 000km life, because removing the Glanza inter-cooler etc degrades rubber hoses. Also alloy head threads, etc.

Platinum plugs aren't as good as they make out. they never really last as long as they claim. My old Carina used 'em, but eventually I used a platinum sub plug as they were too expensive and only lasted about 20000 miles, not 40000 as originally claimed.

if you want some good spark plugs that will last a while i would go with the Bosch platinum performance ones, although you will want to check to make sure they will agree with your car.
