Hello,

My name is Paul Walton and I am a freelance journalist working for the Toyota's customer magazine, IF. I'm writing a feature on owners of high mileage Toyotas – any model, any age but with over 200,000 miles on the clock.

If you have or know of anyone with such a car and would be interested in taking part (it will involve a quick photo and a brief chat with yours truly) please contact me via e-mail (paul@paulwalton.co.uk).

I look forward in hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

Paul Walton

how about an article on high oil consumption and the problems customers are having to get them fixed or a list of the known faulty engine block numbers not all toyota customers are happy as per the if magazine

a true test of any company is what they do when things go wrong so many customers on this site have or are switching to honda etc

just my thoughts

over to you

I am a journalist myself and I see my profession as a duty to report the truth, independently of who is who. As I could understand, you're writing an article about how good Totyota vehicle is. I agree that Toyota is good but it has some problems you might need to report.

So, just a little advice, professional to professional:

If you want to call yourself a JOURNALIST do reports saying the truth, and all of it. If you want to write only about one side, or for one side, please don't call your work JOURNALISM, it insults me and many other honest professionals. That's why your profession is COMERCIAL REPORTER.

Don't take it personaly, you're just doing what you need to make your living, just don't do it under false professional name.

Thanks

I echo the previous post whole heartedly. Rather than doing an article on how wonderful Toyota's are and how many miles they can do who not address the problems.

Just look at this forum for the problems with the early Vvti's. Please write an article explaining why, having bought a Toyota because of their fantastic reliability record, I find myself with an Avensis with the potential to have two major problems with the engine, a problem with the gearbox and a problem with the steering rack.

How about investigating why people find it hard to get anything done about this, how dealers blatantly lie to people about it, how dealers have overfilled with oil when doing consumption checks to make it appear as if the engines are not using so much oil.

Nothing personal mate, but perhaps you can get the message through to Toyota.

It's not going to happen guys. The Toyota IF (In Front) mag is produced by Toyota as a promotional thing. Why would this freelance (who is being paid by Toyota) going to write that sort of article?
