the car will still come to a stop if they use the spike strip. Goodyear claim that their tyres are still useable for 50 MPH for 50 miles.

In America, they have a similar tyre that will last for 200 miles

As Vmail said - run on flat only do so for a period of time.

Besides - they have other technology to stop people if the spike strip doesn't work

I reckon theyed use it if it was tactically viable tho the american definition of 'tactically viable' is as expected almost as good as saying hell yes.

You're all missing the point............if the police go trying to stop people with Run on Flat tyres, then who'll man the speed cameras??

EMP is the way forward I believe ..... Im sure some cops around the world have a similar gadget ;) !

That'll be great if the police ever use such a thing. I'll be waiting for the first police driver with a pacemaker to learn the hard way that EMP and electronics don't mix.
