A leaking sunroof, can apparently, be caused by the drain becoming blocked. I don't know the details but it would be worth checking before taking it in any where.

Sorry, missed this one. I had the same problem with my 2003 RAV4. When I parked on an incline.

We took it to the garage for something else and he unblocked the drains that are behind the rubber sill by the back passenger door I think.

Thanks for the reply. What I have noticed is that the leak is going from the two screw holes at the front of the sunroof. I have taken the screws out as they are not scealed, does anyone know what why it nis leaking from here??????

Hi there, just had my rav into the dealer today for the exact same problem - 2 front drains blocked - service desk said that the drains get blocked as they come out behind the front wheel arches and get blocked with mud - an air hose is all that's needed to clear them.

Hope this helps!

Yes, i have full knowledge of a leaking sunroof on my wife's Rav 4.

Water Leaking from centre light, seats wet, floor pan wet. Leading to problems with electrics leading to flat Battery.

Was advised to clean out possible blocked water ways, done but to no benifit.

Took car to Toyota, they stated that Toyota were aware of the problem and that there was a New sunroof seal which was slightly larger than the fitted one, this they had fitted (£480). I was told to take the matter of a refund to Toyota UK.

This appeared to solve the water leak BUT because the electrics had become wet they actually started to corrode and the Battery was still going flat, admittedly my wife does very few miles and the car is often not started for a week and is then only run to the local shop and back .. I returned the car and was told i needed a new Battery. This was fitted and the electrics checked, discharge was within the acceptable limits. The battery still became flat, the car was again taken to Toyota where they replaced the wireing near the footwell?. NO charge !!

The car does last a little longer without requiring a charge (6 weeks) however nothing like the 8 months that my Audi A4 will last and still start!!.

Otherwise the Rav4 is a good car.
