Nearside Wing Mirror

My nearside door mirror (front passenger) is cracked due to a close encounter.

My car is a Corolla GS year 2000 Xreg. liftback. The mirror is electrical heated and adjustable from inside the cab.

Does anyone have one for sale and also how do I replace it as I have not found a Haynes manual to cover this model.

You can buy the mirror glass from the main dealer and if the mirror housing is intact/undamaged,it's easy enough to replace.

Put the new mirror glass in a bucket of warm water to warm the plastic backing -

there is a hole in the underneath of the mirror housing to access the phillips head screw which holds the mirror glass in.

Slacken the screw and prise the old glass off the ball and socket mount.

Put a bit of grease on the ball and socket and CAREFULLY press the new mirror glass into place - then tighten the screw.

To Mick24

Many thanks for explaining how to replace my wing (door) mirror. All I need now is the replacement glass which hopefully i can obtain from the Toyota dealer.
