Changing Window Seal

i have had a split in the drivers front door seal, could anyone give me a few hints of how to remove the seal from the car.

i can peel it all from around the door frame but di i just then litteraly pull it upwards and off car? and if so how do i fit a new seal

Hope i have made a little sense any help is appreciated

new seal should just push onto the ridge of the frame warning tho its tricky to get back on!

i thought its going to be tricky, going to pop to wolverhampton toyota tmrw day and see how much for them to upply and fit, as knowing my luck ill remove it fine but fitting the new one i could be there all day

well went to toyota in wolverhampton yesterday £96 supplied and fitted, apperently its 5hrs labour, !!

so to be perfectly honest altho i dont mind paying money for a window seal i feel thats exensive, so im going to try and source one from elsewhere, scrapyard, eBay or something and ill have a go myself, ive changed them before on a few cars just never on the avensis, :s

Well ive sourced one for £15 now, so im going to give it a go myself, cant be that hard most its gonna be is door card off which is bound to be pop riveted on

What's the consequences of the split in the rubber? Where has yours occured?

Other than when I'm cleaning the car, I don't really inspect them that closely... :huh:

mine has split in the top corner of the window, some how the window would pull the rubber down when the window was wound down and as a result the window has been pushing it apart it has finally broke so when im driving above 30mph i can hear a whistle and wind noise its more irratting than anything,so its gotta be sorted out

£15 for a 2nd hand one off eBay and im gonna give it a go myself, removing isnt going to be the problem, i can see refitting as the swine
