A Brakes Question

When you buy new discs and pads, you are advised to drive steady and bed them in for 150-300 miles to avoid run out or warping. So why is it that when you buy a new car that has new discs/pads all round they never advise you to be careful and to avoid heavy braking and bed them in gently. No one ever mentions it. Any idea why not? Whats the difference?

Good question, all i can think is maybe because the system has been bled from outside the factory then the manufactuer for their own back will say bed them in, if they are done at the factory they know they have done them right?

Only a maybe type of suggestion

When I got my new rolla last November I was advised by the dealer to break gently for the first 200 to 300 miles to 'run' the discs and pads in !!!!

Generally speaking, the car has been driven a number of times before it get's to you, so this may be why.
