Does hi/low beam work with these? I've read that they can only do low beam and getting a hi beam feature is not common or very good

I only installed one kit for low beam lights..

You can buy another kit and install it for long light, then You have bi-xenon :P

Thx that's great! Is the performance of the xenon lights remarkably better than the factory lights? Is it worth the money? I'm considering the cahnge because I would appreciate better visibility, not interested in the change of looks of the car or similar.

My kit is 6000K :)

I wanted the kit that offers the look of ew bmw/Mercedes :P

I also bought that because of the better illumination..

The light performance is much much better.

I recently compared my lights with the lights on S 320CDI (bi-xenon) and short lights on my corolla are even stronger :)

But these aftermarket kits also can blind those who come from opposite direction..

You must have noticed that most of oroginal xenon light have lenses..

the high/low beam isue is only relevent to bulb types that have duel fillaments (H4 ETC)

single filament bulbs will have a separate bulb for high beam so fitting a HID kit isno problem. take care buying off eBay cos a lot of the HID bulbs on there are just normal bulbs with different gas in, they do not come with or need the separate ballast pack needed to produce the 25,000 volt burst to fire the bulb up.

i got a phillips H1 kit for the new lights in the rolla and when you put them both on together the normal halogen bulb looks like a tea light!

the kit depends on which type of bulb is in Your car..

There is a lots of false kits selling on internet, so be careful :help:

No, the washer is not necessary.

I have just came through the japaneese site of Toyota and there are several great add-ons for the Corolla. Do You know any online shops or similar (maybe japaneese ebay) where those things may be bought? Interesting that they have factory HID lights with a lamp that looks just the same as the one on the EU modells. Also they have the 190bhp 1.8 with 4wd, and keyless entry etc... Why can't we have one of them in Europe? :censor:

Plus TRD is offering a bi-xenon kit for the corolla (see their web site) which is strange as the kit is h4. Do You know anything about it?

  • 2 weeks later...

color_temps2.jpg

check the color tones out.

the one above looks like 4300k

Just information:

Anything above 5000K is not alloved in EU !

&

Halogen lamps are not designed for xenon bulbs(glaring ---> opposite drivers !!!!!,....),.......

&

cheap xenon kits are usually chinese crap(also life time of the bulb is short).......

If U want REAL xenon lamps, .....the solution is ORIGINAL equipment(bulb&light and not just bulb).

I mean "bulbs" (with wires, balast, etc......) .......

If U want "fancy" car/lights, then allmost anything could be OK.....If you want real ( & LEGAL) performance then original parts are the answer.
