Need A New Bed

Hi All,

I'm looking at getting a new bed sometime in the not too distant future, I currently have a single Divan and want to go to a Double - are Divans the best or are bedframes ok? I've seen a lot of bedframe/mattress combinations that I really like aswell but as I've had my current bed for 8 years or so and was bought for me by my Parents when I was a Kid I don't know where to start really

I've done some measuring and I know that a Double will definately fit, so will a king-size but double would be fine  What is the best out of bedframes or Divans, any idea's?

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers

T

We have had both divans and frames in the past.. personally i found that the frames squeeked a lot more than a divan does, so the last time we bought a new bed we choose to go back to a divan.. much quieter ;)

Both are as good as another although if you go for a frame do not get a cheap one as they can bend!

I prefer the aesthetics of a frame personally but it is down to personal taste!

 :D :!Removed!:

Seriously though...

I have one of the Malm doubles from Ikea that look like this:

with the good slatted base and a good spring mattress (Sultan Hasselback - cost as much as the rest of the bedroom furniture put together  )

The matress is the really important bit and you have to try and get one that works for you

hope that's some sort of help,

I will second that. Spent 200 on an orthopedic mattress to help my back trouble and had more pain than ever until we bought our current one

I spent a shed load on my mattress and never regretted it as it is the mattress that makes the bed...

Although folks sold it when it was in storage and now stuck with one of theirs which is good but not as good as my old one !!!
