Passenger Headlight Lit But Not Lighting The Road.

these last few days have been dark and i have used my headlights for the first time in ages. i noticed that the passenger side was lit but didnt seem to be lighting the road. i had a look myself and the bulb attached to the power cable was just rolling around inside the sealed unit. took the car in this afternoon and the garage said the welds (or whatever) had corroded and had failed. they are going to replace it under warranty but i noticed that a number of posts had been made where people had noticed the passenger side was not bright enough and wondered if they should be aware that this can happen.
