247 Spares.co.uk Rip Off

Hi just bought a Toyota Soarer 2.5TT which is like a rocket ship- just ACE! However I thought I'd warn everyone about the hazards of doing business with this "company" 247 Spares.co.uk in Birmingham.

I got what I thought was a good price (£141) for the Y-piece exhaust and boxes only to find out 5 minutes after placing the order that it was second hand! Jap Parts - excellent company- did the same part for 20 quid more and it was brand new.

I phoned 247 spares back to cancel and luckily - or so I thought they hadn't put the card through for payment - anyway long story short they told me to call back to speak to the person who took the order and when I did finally get to speak to that person they had run the card through in the mean time - despite me telling them earlier they now had no authorisation to do so... AND why did they do that? So 247 spare could rip me off and hit me with a 25% cancellation fee.

Anyone else had the misfortune to do business with these sharks?

Cheers Bard

Did you pay by credit card?

If so, I suggest getting on the phone to them sharpish, and getting them to cancel the payment, saying you've not given them authorisation to take the payment.

They are a second hand parts dealing company, what were you expecting???

I am also curious as to why second hand was no good to you? TRy getting the same kit new from toyota :D

I have delt with them many times (I have had a couple of engines amongst other things)and they have always proved excellent.

Still if they did not make it clear that it was a used part untill you had already paid, they shouldn't have a leg to stand on.
