1.8 T3x Tell Me Something Good Please

Have had my three and a bit year old 1.8 T3X (53k miles) about 3 weeks now. I made the potential error of purchasing from a non franchise dealer some distance away from me due to lack of second hand availability at sensible prices in the Norfolk area. I've now a few niggling problems that need sorting and am loathe to take a day off work to return the car, but that's another story.

Anyway car is going to my local Toyota specialist at the weekend to have checked:

- noise from exhaust (possibly from manifold)

- rattling from inside driver's door when closing

- condensation in nearside headlight unit

All these issues have been covered to some degree on this forum and having spent the last hour trawling through loads of people's problems ranging from engine failure to stinky Cats I'm feeling a bit depressed!

Has anyone out there got a 1.8 with similar or greater mileage that's any good? Am I going to have to check the oil every week? Appreciate the above issues are probably trivial but need a bit of reassurance here as I've already more problems than I ever had with my 2.0 CDX.

Post purchase dissonance I believe is my condition, so please tell me something good!!

Just bear in mind that most people are coming on here to request advice on a problem so it distills out issues and makes them look worse than they probably are

I would take it back to the nonfranchised dealer show him the faults and get him to sort them. The headlights needs sorting and it is expensive for new ones I think both headlights should be changed. (See the threads on condensation on here). I take it you have a warranty for the car for at least 3 months.

Aren't the 3 months warrenty usually just for major parts and labour ? That's what was included in mine.

Surely headlights are a major part:you cannot drive a car legally if they are not functioning properly.
