Gearbox Advice

hi wondering if any1 could give me a little advice, i have a 1997 toyot a levin bzr 6speed and recnelty blow the box up, i put it in to my local gearbox specialist and they told me it will cost £1200 to fix my box.

i then phoned toyota and with a 28% discount its still costing £1600 for a new box from then ,

i have a few questions for you toyota nutz :)

1.would a 2004 toyota celica 6speed gear box fit

2.what other toyota have the same box

3.what do use think i should do
