I Bought Myself A T-sport :)

Afternoon all, this is my first post on the forums, so just a quick message to say hi! My current car is a '99 Ford Escort Finesse 1.6L 16V, but I bought an 2002 T-Sport Yaris on friday. I am picking it up on Tuesday/Wednesday!

From what I've read I'm sure I've made a great decision. Are they really that rare? The dealership just wouldn't let it go for much less than the asking price. I only managed to get £800 for my car (£300 improvement on their initial offer) and a years road tax from them. On the offer I accepted I shook the salesman hand, said thanks for his time, and walked out the showroom. It was at that point I realised that was the best deal I was going to get, and then walked back in and bought it. :yahoo:

When I test drove it, I was very impressed. So much quicker than the standard Spirit models, even much better than the brand new ones in regards to handling and acceleration. It really blew my mind that something that looks so tame has that much power. It's red and I've had it Supagarded, so I hopefully that extra £250 will be worthwhile. Is supagarding worth it?

Lol afraid not mate the valetors used it at the Toyota i used to work at and said its no where near as good as Auto Glym. I've used both on my T Sport as i got a Supaguard pack for £20! and i'd say Auto Glym is much better.

But atleast you''ve improved on the choice of car, getting rid of the Ford :) Well done!

I'm not convinced about Supaguard, but you've done it now anyway

Good choice of motor, my Dad has an 2003 Fiesta and the build quality of the Yaris wins hands down on that..let alone an older car...

Show us photo's when you get it too.

Well my mom got it done on her Carolla a few years ago, and it looks superb every time it's cleaned. That's the only reason i said yes to the offer.

I suppose I've made my bed, so I will lie in it now.

Thanks for your comments :).

Moving from a Ford into a Toyota is just a massive leap. I hated getting back into my escort afterwards. It's no where near as comfortable or smooth.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my Escort. For a heavy car, it certainly could shift when it needed too. No where near as quickly as my new toy :D. The reason I went out to change it is because the Catalytic converter has gone, so I have no acceleration what-so-ever. Should of seen me trying to get up a hill out of Lincoln thursday night. I had to go up the 1 mile stretch in first gear.

I don't own a decent camera, but I'll be sure to try and get some good picks.

What's the standard stereo like? I hear it's a bit... pants?

It depends.... I mean I think its ok but then I only listen to the radio and the occasional CD....

Most people do feel the need to upgrade....

The standard headunit isn't the best!

You should get this done:

Or something like that anyway!

By the way, I sold my standard headunit on eBay for £102 so that nearly paid for my Alpine unit!

Good choice i'm sure you will love it! The supaguard certainly isn't worth £250 - you'd have been better payin that to a pro detailer to sort the paintwork and protect it :( ah well
