2.5 Vs 3.0

Hi,

I'd like to find any info on the Hi Lux model: 2.4 TURBO D MANUAL (made in 1993, imported in 2003 from Japan). I'm interested in this model and I wondered if there were any glaringly bad points about it?

Also would the 2.5 give me noticably more MPG than a 3.0 litre engine?

I want to use this vehicle for lugging my photographic equipment about, mainly on the road but occasionally off it so I will be doing alot of motorway and city driving, which brings me to my next question: Does anyone know what kind of cruising speed a 2.5 or 3.0 would have i.e. do I have to get used to the idea of being in the slow lane?!

Any feedback appreciated, thanks!

MPG for both will be around 24-28 mpg, assume your talking Surf and not pickup, also you won't be in the slow lane with a surf, they will cruise at 80mph all day.

The 2.4ltr has a problem with heads cracking around 100,000 miles so the 3.0ltr would be the best model to go for, they can be found for around £3000 in most places these days, have a look on hiluxsurf.co.uk.
