What Can I Put In My Avensis

i have a 99 avensis and am getting a bit bored of the 1.6 engine does anyone know what engine can fit in the avensis that is plug and play. i want a bigger engine but dont want to change much if any of the wiring loom. does anyone know if there is a 16v version of the 1.6 or maybe even a 1.8 16v that will fit into it without much hassle i have never worked on the avensis's before and was wondering are they easy to work. if any one can answer these question's i would be most gratfull

it is better to visit small private garages and ask for fitters work with cars tuning or similar.

I presume they will help.
