Im considering 18 inch rims on my Auris. I've decided not to lower the car so far. Would this size be too large?

I think it's too big... Of course it's up to you and what you like, grip and look or a bit of comfortability too. Because those 18'' rims

will need very low profile tyres (especially if you won't lower the car at all) which will decrease the comfortability a lot.

If we're thinking just about the look, 18'' is the only right answer i think!

Without lowering It'll be looked like a Jeep :(

18" 225\40 approximately the same as 225\45 17" and 205\55 16" -

Mainly it depends on the tyre rather then rim size

Anyone found springs that lower the car more yet? 50-60mm?

Still way way to high with 30mm lowering i think...

There's no springs with that lowering - only HKS suspension (1700USD) will provide 30-70 variable lowering (spring and shock in one pice - dunno how it's called in English :( )
