Main Lights Stopped Working

Hi

Both my headlights have stopped working. The side lights work and the main beam flasher works. However if I switch on the headlights and try to click the main beams on they will not light up.

I was having some work done on the alarm system prior to me finding out the lights don't work. Could it be the relay? Is there another one in the car I can test with?

I've checked both fuses and they are OK.

I've now checked the relay and its working OK. All the other lights are working OK. Fuses OK, bulbs OK, high beams still wont switch on but the flasher works.

Could it be the steering column switch?

I swapped the headlight relay and still had the same issue.

I've taken the poss from the rear and parking lights relay and bridged it to the same side for the main lights relay. When I switch on the side lights the mains now come on.

Could it be the switch?

ANY replies would be appreciated.

Yes. I was going to say that yesterday but Bora Sera had already replied - here.

I completely agree with him, that is the place to start looking.
