Loss Of Power Pulling Away

Hi, sorry my first post is a tech question!

The Landcruiser is a 4.2 VX 1992 (auto). It's developed a problem where there is no power pulling away from stationary. Even at wide open throttle very little happens. Once you are moving power levels seem to return to normal though. I've also tried flooring it in reverse from stationary and it shoots off backwards with full power!

I've checked all the usual things for loss of power - turbo/air/pipes, there's no smoke from the exhaust either, and that fact it shoots off in reverse makes me think its something electrical probably to do with the transmission.

Following the manual I did a self diagnosis check (p7B-3 Haynes manual) and its throwing up error code 62 which is no. 1 solenoid. Trouble is I cant find them to see if this is the problem or not!

I've looked around the gearbox, engine bay and behind the glovebox but cant see them -

Any suggestions or help most appreciated

Cheers

Rob

It should be on the gearbox.

Cheers, I'll have to have a closer look - I could see some of the others like the speed sensor, stop light switch etc.

I guess they may be up on top to keep them out the way of water and muck etc.

mate the solenoid valves 1 and 2 are in gearbox u have to remove oil pan

code 62(1) is solenoid valve 1 code 63(2) is solenoid valve 2

when u remove oil pan u will see them both after oil drains and clears
