Club Toyota

Won't/can't let me join them because my MR2 is a "grey" import.

This is an email I received.

"Hello Asha,

The reason that they were unable to find your vehicle on our systems is

because yours is "grey" import from Japan.

These vehicles are made specially for the Japanese domestic market only.

Club Toyota only accepts vehicles which are first sold in Europe, so Club

Toyota is not possible for your vehicle."

So an authentic Japanese Toyota isn't allowed in their Toyota Club - that's a bit ironic !

Toyota at Ilkeston were a bit rough with me when coming to get parts for my Import! They turned their nose up at me!!

With regards to getting parts from a Toyota dealership....I can't fault RRG Rochdale. Very friendly and helpful and by now they know me and my car.

But to be fair, I ask Kingo for help, advice and for parts more often these days. :D

One or two members on MR2 OC are with Club Toyota...and they have "grey imports" :o

I can feel a bo11ocking letter heading Toyota's way shortly, unless Kingo has uncovered a good enough for one not to be sent. :D

Its only a glorified RAC membership anyway - with a free magazine every year if they actually send it!

Well to be fair I am already with the RAC and paying way to much than I should be.

If I join Club Toyota I save £60 for the year and get exactly the same service as before.
