Vvti Control Hub

Hi All........

Would just like to find out if anyone else has had this problem.....

I have owned lots of Carinas and Avensis as the operator of a taxi fleet and have recently bought a number of 1.8 VVTI petrol models......one of them (y reg) was misfiring badly and running very rough so did all the usuals like change plugs, coilpacks etc....had the fault codes read and the VVTI controler came up as faulty plus a load of other faults most likely because of the timing being out etc......was told that the VVTI controller is a Hub on the camshaft as is a nightmare of a job...and expensive to do....

Has anyone had to replace this or is there something else that it might be like a sensor....wishful thinking I'm sure....

Many thanks for your replies.....

Richard
