I had a tow bar fitted when I bought the car new and Ive connected a trailer to the connector plug, Im now without rear indicators on both sides. My front and side work, I phoned the suppliers in Stirling and expected them to narrow down my search, they had a drawing but suggested I bring it up to connect to their diagnostics system at a cost. Im a bit put out as this indicates poor back up service for a minor problem, can someone assist or provide a wiring diagram

Hi, I am unsure if you had the towbar connected by Toyota or by another supplier. If Toyota, then they should sort the problem under warrenty. If a towbar supplier, surely they should check they have done it correctly and rectify it anyway?

If the front/sides are working, is this just an over-ride? Do the indicators on anything being towed work? Do the rears work when unhitched?

I am unsure if this helps at all. I do not know if this year is covered in the Haynes manual but Toyota warranties are longer than the age of your car.

i had this when i fitted a tow bar on a 07 yaris, there is a wire which connects to the front of the vehicle (don't ask where as it was a ges ago, but will find out) and the connector that toyota supplied to connect this wire to the tow bar wiring harness wasn't making a sucessful connection, so soildered it in the end and all was groovey, the wire ran along the drivers sill under the plastic trim up into the dash but the connector part was in the rear door bottom plastic strip ;)
