Diesel Injectors

I have just replaced the engine in a Toyota Lucida Estima.The engine is a 3ctd.diesel turbo.Using the hand pump I can pump fuel to the injector pump and out the return line,but with cranking the engine I get nothing out of the injector lines.Is there a special procedure to bleed the system or some special technique to get the fuel pumping to the injectors.

the engine has been cranking enough to start a jumbo jet!!Most Jap vehicles here in the Bahamas are for the american market and information is readily available,but this new wave of Jap cars direct from Japan is a different kettle of fish.There is no info available locally.

Have you tried simply leaving the injector loose at the fuel rail and crank it to try bleading it from there.
