While we're on the subject, When did Toyota launch the Verso as a Stand Alone product?

It was only after the 'incident' last week when I discovered that it was a car in it's own right and not a variant of several others.

Good move from the management

Verso became its own model when the new facelift version came out in 2006 I believe.

Really??

That slipped out 'under the Radar' so to speak. I don't recall any major press or advertising campaigns that usually herald a launch !

Car manufacturers seem to be more lazy at thinking up new names for cars across their ranges these days. Probably because they do build them from a multi platform base, even if what they put on top is completely different.

Not sure how far they would take things though as Seat and VW, could in theory, both have a Golf or Leon in their model line up.

  • 2 weeks later...

Is this for the latest Verso only, i.e. the Corolla Verso of which name they dropped "Corolla"?

Or is this the new home of the former Yaris/Corolla/Avensis Verso models here as well?

I'm not sure to be honest.

There's merit in keeping all verso related postings in the Verso forum, but the older incarnations ( Yaris/Avensis ) probably have more relevance in the Yaris/Avensis forums.
