New Tomtom Mounting

Hi folks...14 days til my aygo is born and I'm wondering about mounting my tomtom 930

the mounting method is different to the older models that toyota did a dedicated kit for and I'd like to position it above the radio in the cubby hole ie not the windscreen. any suggestions as to a simple mount for it that won't 'let go' when you turn a corner, also wouldn't like to damage the dash moulding too much.

Don't need power or other stuff, just a mount as I can just charge it up when I need to.

any suggestions , other folks experience with it??

by the way, the 930t is brilliant, does everything you want and more, even has an fm transmitter to pipe your tunes to the car system...top unit

I use one of these adhesive mounting discs for my Tomtom 720. It's in the same place as you've suggested and works a treat. It's small and unobtrusive and you can leave the suction mount attached to it, or take it off when you're not using it if you'd rather, and just leave the mounting disc there. It's also removeable, universal, and causes no damage to the dash. Which is great should you sell your car or change your sat nav etc. Can post a picture if you'd like to give u an idea.

Agree about the sat nav being good. Love my 720.

And good luck with your Aygo.... bet you're counting down the days/hours/minutes already! :D

Have you looked at Brodit proclip options?

Try Brodit proclips

With Brodits you first select the main holder for your car and then what mount you want for mobile, PDA, Sat Nav etc. The great thing about Brodit proclips is that there is no drilling of the dashboard involved.

I've used DSL and they are very good

Yes, brodit stuff is good

was thinking of using the tomtom home dock as it seems to do the job quite nicely

no audio/tmc tho!

Has anyone else with TMC enabled devices noticed that it is only really good for motorways. In other areas it rarely makes a difference.

I think you are right, but here in Glasgow, there are loads of urban motorways which regularly get bunged up/lanes closed etc

I don't reckon I'll use the TMC much unless I know I have a busy route to travel, however the 930 Tomtom also has iq routes and I AM very impressed with this, it takes me on a different route to work depending on the time of day/day of week etc...very good for avoiding hold-ups.
