Whilst I have a basic understanding of OBD2/EOBD /DTCode reading I was curious about whether these two are infact the same item? Or whether the one is more geared towards the US market (Where OBD2 was a legal requirement in 1996) and the other more towards the European market (OBD2/ EOBD was required later in 2001 –although some cars/manufacturers were getting geared up before this date)

And the

My reason for whishing to have a handheld reader is for my toolkit in the cars. I know there are cheaper ones (and GENDAN do an excellent GCR05) but both these ones have freeze-frame data (snapshot of sensor values when an actual DTC occurred).

So any advice from users/experience of either would be greatly received.

Also if anyone can recomend a completely different reader (providing it has freeze frame option) then that too would be of help as I see SEALEY tools are marketing one (-this I would presume has got to be manufactured by someone else).

Of course if money was no object :lol::lol: I think I would go for this :
