Hi all,

I've just finished my experiment - trying to extract the best MPG from my celica by driving gently.

It wasn't exactly hypermiling as I used the radio often, drove with the wondow down often, and used the air-con occasionally. A good mix of driving, not too much on the motorway either.

So... it is with an imaginary drum roll that I announce 39.4 MPG

(49.13 litres, 426.2 miles)

I'm chuffed, but it hasn't exactly been fun!

My smile returned when I pulled out of the petrol station at lunchtime with a full tank and the mission of recording a real-world figure
