yep its hard times at he moment. at least we all have a job still.

all manufacturers are suffering some laying off workforce

i think nearly every garage in our city has handed out redundancy notices. Some garages have even made people redundant already.

Hmm well the dealer I have spoken to states that the auris production will not be any different as they are cutting people from Rav and the Avensis production.

To be honest I wouldnt expect anybody at dealer level to know much about it. The report says Auris production is being cut to one shift from two, and Avensis production is not affected

And the day shift continues to work as usual, they only canceled the night shift.

I wonder if my Auris born at night... :huh:

They don't build Rav in Burnaston...

They probably won't be cutting Avensis production as there is a brand new model coming out in January that is being built at Burnaston. Toyota will need to create a bit of a stockpile to fill demand from fleet buyers as soon as it launches
