Common Problems To Look Out For?

In 1 months time, i will be the Proud owner of a Supra. Is there any common faults i should look out for in a supra? (Example, my old rover used to be prone to electonic faults and Head gasket failure)

I'm not up to date with the types of supra there are, i just know its an L reg and has a turbo :P

Is there anything i should keep my eye on before and after purchasing my Supra?

Thanks guys.

Depends. Only heard about 3. generation with the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE is known to suffer from blown head gasket due to incorrect torque specifications. However, with proper replacement of the head gasket using a higher torque setting, the problem should be solved.

If its an L reg I'd imagine its a JZA-80..

Just make sure the turbos are ok, the sills aren't rusty, and the headlamps don't fog up. they can pop crank pulleys too so listen out for any odd squeaks on start up (sounds like a belt slipping)
