I thought the T-Sport TTE Backbox was the same as the D4D Diesel one?

The D4D one is listed by the same seller for only £100.

Not sure on that, it's part number is 1 digit different.

Parts King would prob be able to clarify if there's a difference!

Unfortunately this is not true. There have been a few discussions on this matter and the diesel 2.0 is NOT compatible with the T-Sport. They are both uprated versions that can handle higher temperatures, but are not the same exhausts, so they are not interchangeable. Someone should definitely grab this. I got a mine off eBay for an absolute bargain and am definitely happy I replaced the OE one.

Well I wasn't really banking on winning with my best offer. I just offered it and then I got an email back saying the backbox was mine!

Personally I thought it was cheeky of the seller to command £50 more for the T-Sport one over the Diesel one.

Lucky me! :D

Thanks for finding me the bargain. Unfortunately I'm using the £30 saving to pay for the fitting of it.

Still sharing with others is what this forum is for right???

Congrats mate. Bargain price!

Edit: As for the fitting thing.. Do it yourself! 14mm spanners and some WD40 and you're sorted. Just got mine up on a Trolley jack and axle stand and it was done. The bolts holding it on will be pretty damn stiff but use 2 spanners to get leverage and they'll crack pretty easy. Should take you no longer than an hour.

Might give this ago then. Do I need any exhaust sealant stuff when it joins on the main pipe?

Is it as simple as joining two bits of pipe together?

Pretty much. You only have 2 bolts to undo although as already mentioned these can be tough to undo. I had more issues taking the 2 rubber mounts off the exhaust compared to anything else.

I gave it a try was really hard to remove the bolts on the car thats the only thing, my exhaust place were going to charge me 25 quid to fit it which was cheap i suppose saves you all the hassle lol.

Best check the part number quoted on eBay against the part number on the TTE website.

The only other thing to note is, although as yours is a pre-facelift it might be different.

When the exhaust is fitted to Facelift's it sits on a slant like -T- Sport's, unless the mountings are slighty modified to make it sit straight, like mine! ;)

I never used any sealant on mine, not noticed any blowing yet but time will tell! As Gaz said, mine sits on a slant at the mo but planning to change that asap by modifying one of the rubber mountings.

With your being a pre-facelift I think it'll be fine when connected up. As for the removing the original from the rubber mountings... Washing up Liquid! :)
