Sat Nav

I have just got a 2001 avensis vvti gs and would like to obtain the most recent roads on disc compatible with the sat nav system.

I think the most recent is on a dvd and I don't think my system plays dvds.

Whats the best option?

Can anyone advise?

Brett

I would think you have the TNS200 which is CD based. Updated map discs are (or were last time I checked) available but cost a small fortune and not worth it. Cheaper to buy a stand alone SatNav such as a TomTom One.

There was (maybe still is, but can't find it at the mo) a webpage that you can put in your current cd number and it tells you which disc is the latest one for your system and the price. Make sure you are sitting down for the price bit just in case you faint.

If you search these forums, I'm sure you will find a link to the update page, if the forum comments haven't put you off by then. Just found the link,

www.toyota-mapupdates.eu

but it seems to be defunkt now. Only other option is to ask the dealer but be prepared for around £125 !

To B.rett,

Try www.toyota-mapupdates.eu

Regards, Beagh.

Gave him the link already Beagh, it wouldn't work yesterday but seems to be back up and running again. They are still too expensive though.
