Toyota Avensis Starting Problem

Dear All I own an R reg Toyota Avensis GLS with a 1.8L petrol engine. Its generally a good car but last weekend it developed a fault. The engine is cutting out (dying) about 2 seconds after starting. Obvious causers have been discounted eg flat Battery. A new heat sensor was fitted about 1 month ago Any ideas ? The car has been slow to start recently during some of the cold damp mornings but has always started after about 30 secs max, Thanks for any suggestions you may have Andrew
