Hi Guys,

My Ns Headlamp has been misting up over the last few weeks and yesterday the bulb went after only changing it a couple of weeks ago. I checked and the connector has melted and disintegrated after taking it off the bulb. Now I need to change the Headlamp Unit but dont want to pay an arm and a leg at Mr T, so does anyone know how to renew these? Im thinking the Bumper has to come off? If so, how easy/awkward is this?

The bulb I had in was Phillips extreme Vision which were brill. OS one is still working fine and no misting whatso ever....

I am thinkin to put a replacement unit in which is not an original...Any thought on this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

hello

Yes mine had also the same issue in 2007 with the same melting reason.

But I was forced to change it by MrT. It was right side headlight unit.

Cheers/Igor

Thanks for the response guys...

Sorry I forgot to mention that the vehicle has does 108K now so Toyota wont honour the replacement under Warrenty.

Anyways, I took the car to an auto- electrician yesterday and he stripped the wiring and extended them and put two new connectors on for me. It took him about an hour and charged me £25 :-) better than paying out for a headlight!! Also I found that after leaving the headlight casing off for a day the condensation disappeared although some dry residue left on the lens..

By the way, can I leave the casing off? Im just wondering if it starts raining, is there any chance of water entering it?

Also- the electrician saved the bulb ( they cost me £30 apair) by sandpapering the bad terminal...They work fine now!
