Hi

i still have a yaris 2009 as courtesy car until next week when a new business is done.

But I have a doubt: today when I turned the key to put the car working appeared a strange symbol next to the temperature measure with the word cool. Do you know what does it mean ???

I stopped the car and I turned the key again the signal appeared again but then disappeared. As i 'm not English do you know ahat it means???

That blue/green "Cool" symbol is the low temperature warning which is normally on untill the engine has warmed up.

It is advisable not to overrev the engine until this light goes out......(usually within a few minutes of start up)

If the RED temperature light comes on .................then your engine is overheating.

These simple warning lights do away with the temperature guage on the Yaris

With the mark 1 Yaris I get a blue light when the engine is cold (but no Cool word) it will go out depending on ambient and engine temperature. A good feature in my opinion as it’s a reminder not to race the engine until fully warmed up.
