Avensis 2001 D-4 ? What´s The Different With This Model ?

Hi there,

I just bought a new car, a Toyota Avensis D-4 VVT-i SOL 2.0, 2001 model.

The old man that i bought the car from told me the engine is 2.0 150bhp which he said is not very common in these cars.

The car is marked with a Toyota D-4 on the sides.

I was wandering what does this D-4 stand for ? and is this car any special than a normal SOl 2.0 ?

i´m quite curious, so please help :-)

Hi Beini,

that engine should be a benzine 2.0L 1AZ-FSE. The D4 mark means that is a Direct Injection benzine engine (GDI).

I have a 2006 Avensis with this engine, 2.0 D4 VVT-i with 147 HP.

Fuel consumption is ok and it as a very smooth driving.
